Tim Warren announces the opening of Green Revolution Lawn Maintenance, a large-scale eco-friendly lawn care company, which will debut at the Savannah Earth Day Festival on April 18 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Forsyth Park.

Green Revolution Lawn Maintenance will serve residential and commercial clients using machinery that produces zero emissions and 50 percent less noise than its traditional counterparts. Power is generated by lithium-ion batteries that are charged using a customized solar system.

Commercial-grade equipment includes 42” zero turn mowers that cut grass faster and with a wider path than residential versions, as well as stainless-steel hedge trimmers, string trimmers for weed eating, blowers for clearing yard debris, pole saws for pruning and chainsaws for heavier-duty maintenance.

“According to the Environmental Protection Agency, Americans use more than 800 million gallons of gas each year trimming their yards,” Warren said. “And more than 17 million gallons of gas and oil are spilled each year refueling lawn equipment – more than was spilled by the Exxon Valdez. Green Revolution is an opportunity to make a small difference.”

Pricing is comparable to conventional lawn services, because although the equipment is more expensive, supplies such as gas and oil are not required.

“It’s a misconception that it always costs more to be environmentally-conscious,“ Warren said. “That isn’t the case here.”

Warren began a career in sales before starting several businesses in industries such as print brokerage and automobile sales and financing. He co-owns Edibelles, a Savannah-based gourmet food and gift company, with his wife, Madeleine. He is a past member of the Savannah Ducks Unlimited Committee and has served on the Coffee Bluff Marine Rescue Squadron for almost 30 years.
