Tammy Moseley Ray launched The Detail Department in January 2006 as a consulting firm specializing in event planning, public relations, marketing, fund raising and special projects.
Tammy’s experience ranges from planning seminars for 20 professionals, to luncheons for 100 people, to the popular Taste of Savannah for 1000 guests. Developing marketing plans, writing and distributing press releases and placing advertising, along with designing and writing newsletters, annual reports, invitations and programs, are also among her talents. Her exceptional organizational skills allow her to handle one-of-a-kind projects with ease.

Events have included galas to celebrate Georgia Historical Society's 275th anniversary of the founding of the colony, the Savannah Area Chamber of Commerce's 200th anniversary and Massie Heritage Center’s 150th anniversary. In addition, she’s planned a St. Patrick's Day luncheon and election night dinner for Georgia State Senator Eric Johnson, an upscale groundbreaking ceremony for a Portuguese company opening near Savannah, the “Best of Savannah” party for Savannah Magazine and a tennis tournament for the Coastal Empire Council Boy Scouts of America. Public relations and marketing projects have included annual reports, mail order catalogs, press conferences, press kits, press releases and ribbon cuttings.
During Tammy’s six-year tenure as the director of the Tourism Leadership Council, a non-profit organization that provides resources to business in the hospitality industry, she doubled its membership and raised almost half a million dollars. Her background includes serving as the sales and marketing manager for Southeast Fast Food Partners, a franchisee of 24 Hardee's restaurants; directing a career program and handling public relations and fund raising for the Boy Scouts of America, and writing feature stories for the Savannah Morning News.
Tammy graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor’s degree in journalism and a master’s degree in mass communication.
